Corsham
The
Corsham Court and Park - Corsham Court is an historic
house, and is well worth a visit for the large art collection,
house & garden tours and parkland (free) designed
by Capability Brown.
The
Alms Houses - The Almshouses were built in 1688 by Dame
Margaret Hungerford, who was the widow of a Parliamentarian
commander in the English civil war. They can be found
opposite the Corsham Cricket ground at the south entrance
to Corsham Park.
Box
Tunnel - Classed as one of Isambard Kingdom Brunel's
great works, Box Tunnel runs under the hill between
Corsham and Box. The tunnel was opened on 30th June
1841, completing the Great Western Railway mainline.
